- Sean Humphrey House
A nonprofit organization in Bellingham whose mission is to optimize the quality of life for low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS, who may also suffer from other diseases and disabilities, and who are unable to live independently.
The House consists of six studio apartments, each with private entrance, bathroom, and furnishings adjoined to a community living space.
The family-home setting allows residents at Sean Humphrey House to maintain independent fulfilling lives while having access to support services to remain healthy while combating HIV/AIDS.
Their aim is to foster good physical health as well as the feelings of confidence, self-esteem and a sense of security in our residents.

- American Red Cross
The mission of the Whatcom County American Red Cross is to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
The Mt. Baker Chapter of the American Red Cross serves the men, women, and children of our community by responding to current needs and emergency care.
The provide Disaster Relief, Health and Safety Education, Armed Forces Emergency Services and International Social Services, and Volunteer and Youth Recruitment and Training.

Attending an orientation is the first step in becoming a volunteer, though no commitment is expected at that time. The orientation typically lasts 2 hours and covers the following information: Red Cross history and mission, the Red Cross movement (ICRC, IFRC, National societies and chartered chapters), the Mt. Baker chapter, chapter services and the “how-tos” of becoming a volunteer.
There are numerous volunteer opportunities from Disaster Action Team Member to Financial and Statistical Information Team Member.

- Arc of Whatcom County
The Arc of Whatcom County is dedicated to meeting the needs of children and adults with developmental disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome.
Because children with developmental disabilities require lifelong care, families face a tremendous challenge. The Arc's commitment is to ensure that whether it is a voucher for an infant car seat, specialized child care, help with special education services in the schools, vocational assistance after high school, or support to senior families with guardianship and long-term care planning, families who come to The Arc will find the assistance that makes a difference.
The Arc of Whatcom County sponsors a variety of educational programs / workshops focusing on current issues that concern persons with developmental disabilities and their families.
